Dr Kanika Mehrotra

CLINICAL PSYCHOLOGIST & PSYCHOTHERAPIST (RESEARCH LEAD)

Kanika Mehrotra is a clinical psychologist and psychotherapist practising with The Green Oak Initiative in Bangalore with over ten years of experience. She has completed her M.Phil and Ph.D from NIMHANS, Bangalore and her post-doctoral training at the University of Rhode Island, USA. Her Ph.D work explores parenting experiences in mothers with Borderline Personality Features. She has also completed her advanced training in Mentalization based Treatment with the Anna Freud Centre. She primarily utilizes a relational framework in her work with individuals. Kanika has provided both individual and group supervision as part of her doctoral and post-doctoral training, and is passionate about the professional development of early career therapists.

Kanika also heads research and development and aids in the conceptualization and coordination of the various research projects led by GOI. Her research interests lie in the areas of personality disorders, psychotherapy process and outcome research, and qualitative methods.

In her free time, she enjoys poetry, watercolours, and exploring new places.
