Sindhu Shrii is a Clinical Psychologist, registered with the Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI). She has completed her MPhil from the prestigious Manipal University, Manipal with flying colors. She secured a gold medal and was recognised as the best outgoing student in her batch. She is fluent in many languages which include English, Kannada, Tamil, Telugu and Hindi and thereby she brings a multilingual and culturally sensitive approach to her practice.
She is well versed in managing people with common and complex mental health issues. She is adept with the use of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) in helping individuals with anxiety and depression, of varying severity. She has acquired considerable skill and experience in working with adolescents and young adults. She uses a trauma informed approach and principles of DBT in her collaborative interaction with her clients.
She is well versed with various aspects of psychological assessment - clinical interviews and use of psychometric tools for various cognitive and emotional difficulties. She has a sensitive manner of working with families and carers, when required to interact with them. She believes that having empathy, being curious and respecting the autonomy of the client are important tenets of therapeutic alliance.
She has a special interest in the mental health of women in the perinatal age group (women during pregnancy and post delivery) and is an integral part of Chiguru, specialist perinatal service provided by The Green Oak Initiative. To further consolidate her existing skills of working with the perinatal group of individuals (which includes families), she has completed the certificate course on perinatal mental health facilitated by NIMHANS. Through this course, she has learnt to take up a multidisciplinary approach to provide holistic care to her clients.
She is actively involved in coordinating academic pursuits of Green Oak Initiative and is always working towards including innovative ways of academic learning of the team.
