Kanika Mehrotra is a Clinical Psychologist, Psychodynamic Psychotherapist, and supervisor. She has completed her M.Phil and Ph.D from NIMHANS, Bangalore and her post-doctoral training at the University of Rhode Island, USA. Her work draws on contemporary relational psychodynamic thinking to understand how culture, relationships, and lived experience shape psychological suffering and possibilities for change.
She works with adults experiencing personality difficulties, trauma, and relational concerns. Alongside her clinical practice, Kanika writes on psychotherapy, countertransference, and cultural perspectives in mental health and facilitates Living Room, a psychoanalytic reading circle centred on contemporary psychoanalytic thought and Global South perspectives.
She also serves as Research Lead at The Green Oak Initiative where she supports the development of research in psychotherapy and mental health. She has completed advanced training in Mentalization-Based Treatment (MBT) and a two-year certification in Adult Psychodynamic Psychotherapy at the Columbia University Center for Psychoanalytic Training and Research. In her free time, she enjoys poetry, watercolours, and exploring new places.
